You need to make or establish notable points, not just provide backup that a certain magazine likes or dislikes a character. It shouldn't get added as a reference just for referencing's sake. It doesn't really matter if a site is "reliable and verifiable". Look around at any other character article for crying out loud.- Kung Fu Man ( talk) 00:47, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

There's no region lock on a reference, just a requirement that if something's cited the source is reliable and verifiable. Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.22.96 ( talk) 00:42, 20 March 2009 (UTC) Nobody's indiscriminately listing anything: the sources are reliable publications and websites. References should only be used to back up a point that's being made.įinally, unless Rufus turns out to be from Florda, I won't expect to see any more mention of the Tampa Tribune. It is not enough simply to Google his name every day and indiscriminately list everything that comes up. A reference article is not meant to be "Everything we can find out about Rufus". I have removed a couple of the extraneous links from this page. 2 Anyone else notice a resemblance to Paul John Teutul, Sr?.

But Storm’s design origins are mighty suspect and if Japanese artists are using them as a template for their current black characters, they still need to be taken to task. I even love Bengus’ Storm, hence my avatar. Storm is my favorite comic character, and the Claremont run is my favorite run in superhero books. Sometimes Storm is even depicted with brown eyes and textured hair now, because these aspects of her initial design were unnecessary and not even what make her iconic. Over time they moved away from these details because they were, frankly, dumb as fuck. Oh, and with cat eyes, because she was based on two scrapped characters, one of whom was a literal cat lady. Dave Cockrum and Chris Claremont initially envisioned this woman with an African-American dad and a Kenyan mother as a mixture of the “Negroid, Caucasian, and Oriental” races somehow. The problem is the origins of the Storm look are FUCKED UP. You are right that Japanese artists are mimicking the Storm look. Japanese art be anti-black and they be giving black characters random features to make them Special Black People as opposed to the ones you don’t have to care about.
